ReCaptcha is utterly pointless. The whole premise is, "oh, you're helping translate books that computers can't on their own! good for you!" But in order for the thing to work, you have to type in the words CORRECTLY. Which means somebody else has already gone through and figured out what the words say. Which means you aren't actually doing anything other than the work someone else did already.
